Auf dem Weg dorthin f\u00e4hrt man an vielen D\u00f6rfern vorbei, welche aus &#8222;typisch afrikanischen&#8220; Lehmh\u00fctten bestehen. Der muslimisch gepr\u00e4gte Norden Ghanas ist im Schnitt weitaus \u00e4rmer als der Rest des Landes. Auch die Infrastruktur ist schlechter ausgebildet.<br \/>\nDie Menschen in Larabanga sprechen Kamara. Eine Sprache, die in Ghana nur etwa 3000 Menschen sprechen. Englisch ist vor allem unter den Frauen kaum verbreitet und viele haben den Norden Ghanas oder sogar ihr Dorf noch nie verlassen.<br \/>\nLarabanga liegt direkt vor den Toren des Mole-Nationalparks, einer der\u00a0 gr\u00f6\u00dften Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten Ghanas. Hier leben u.a. Elefanten, die viele Touristen anlocken. Der Tourismus ist eine der wenigen Einnahmenquellen, die es in der Region gibt.
